Yes, there’s value in massages and bubble baths, we don’t want to take that away from you. But if you really want to break free from the burnout you’re facing and feel energetic and present to experience all that life has to offer, you’ll need to go deeper and more intentionally.
Pay Attention to Your Mental Health
We like to think about self-care and self-compassion as a process that will keep you moving throughout life in a way that is manageable and fulfilling, no matter the challenge that’s thrown at you. We like to think about it like a car. Self-care is refilling your tank with gas, and when we do that we can keep going - and you don’t have to wait until the tank is empty to notice it and take care of refueling.
But your car also needs a radiator, which is responsible for regulation. We consider this the self-compassion piece, in which you can learn to minimize the harsh ways you talk to yourself and relieve the shame that comes along with your stress and overwhelm while also giving you the motivation to embrace your humanness.
Why did it get that bad in the first place?
During your time in self care and burnout therapy, you’ll get to explore and dig into a lot of stuff about your life and what you value. You’ll learn new coping skills and start thinking about your goals and processes in a totally different way, and you’ll likely get unstuck pretty quickly.
But you also want to prevent this from happening again, and in order to do that you’ll need to take a look at what led you to be burnt out in the first place. We can help you stay accountable for working on your stuff, but we’ll also point out the unhealthy patterns and harmful stories floating around in your head that make you feel like you’re not worthy of being cared for.
